Understanding Priority…(Part 2)
In my Previous Post of Understanding Priority..
A discussion arose by my Mentee and this is what she said.
“What if the anxiety comes in the way and therefore we procrastinate
What if the person had few priorities and end up now not doing anything when they fear to take the step. It’s ultimately the initiation that the person has to take”
As my post focused on a value of time basically of the OUTcome of Time as result of its its investment. Procrastination kills that value, coz we procrastinate intentionally. The intention may come out of Fear, Anxiety, laziness, Punishment and more.
The Factors that instigate or invite Procrastination (external forces or from within) can or cannot be controlled. If it can be controlled, then again its in oneself to make it work. (for example) push oneself to do certain goals, tasks, roles etc. or Get help from friends, family and more. But sometimes in the case of Self Punishment, then the intention of punishing oneself for certain reasons, becomes a bigger priority that resulting into a positive value.
End of the day, its all about the value, whether it is positive or negative and whether its in your hands or not.
But in a case of something that is not in your hands, for example, terminal illness, your environment etc, which doesnt allow you to avoid procrastination. Then can you move away from it? can you ask for help? can you read about it and see how others have come out of it?… too many new questions…
But as she said , the ultimate initiation is left with the person. Do you want to come out of procrastination? do you want to add better value to your time in life?
